In Philadelphia I see tons of different couples, gay, straight, all different ethnicities, going about their daily business like everyone else.

What percentage of African Americans marry someone of a different race?

18 % of African Americans marry someone of a different race.

African American men have a higher likelihood of marrying outside their race. What percentage of recently married black women have a spouse of a different race?

African American women are less likely to marry outside of their race.

Hispanics come in second as the most likely to marry outside their ethnicity.

27% of Hispanics today are married to someone outside their race.

I also know pockets in New York where they aren't. That's a political stereotype, not a Southern one. Now, I fully expect to get downvotes and trollish comments about my opinion.

We are not Confederates, we don't support slavery or want it back, we aren't inbred, moonshine drinking, racist, bigoted, idiots who only get happiness by bashing gays, mud dogging and keeping black people in some sort of perpetual state of oppression. My point is, I know hundreds of "pockets in the south" where people outside metro areas support and are fine with inter-racial marriage. But lots of politicians the world over slept with prostitutes, cheated, lied, embezzled and got caught. Not even a sixteenth of an eighth of 1% of the population.

Interracial couples who have mobility are constantly asking, where can we relocate our interracial family and have the fewest issues as an interracial couple, where will our kids have the fewest issues as a biracial kid, and where can we find other interracial couples for friendship and fellowship.

The reality is that this is just a very difficult question to answer as every interracial couple and every situation is unique.

This is 13% higher than in 1980, when only 5% of African Americans married someone from a different race.
